The Government has no plan to rebuild the collapsed economy and it has turned the Central Bank (CB) into a money printing machine and the result would be high inflation, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said.
He asked the Ministers who criticize the Government from within to step down from their ranks in the Government and start a fight against it.
“The people have made sacrifices since the day this Government came to power and the only reward it has given the people is to create an era of queues. The people gave this Government a two-thirds majority in Parliament, but the way it treats the people today has become a twist of fate. The Government can set a Guinness World Record by the way it increases the prices of goods and the way it sells the national assets,” Premadasa said.
He was participating in a ceremony to declare open a Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Office in Hambantota on Monday.
The Opposition Leader said that Sri Lanka has become a battleground for powerful countries and that the Government is selling various parts of the country to foreign powers.
