Nippon Foundation provides relief to 1,800 families

The Nippon Foundation of Japan has funded a project to provide essential items and nutritious food packs for children of approximately 1,800 families struggling to make ends meet due to the raging Covid-19 epidemic.

The Japanese NGO has provided funds to the tune of Rs 30 mn to Seva Lanka to carry out the project backed by ITN under special programme ‘Manusath Sathkaraya.’ The distribution of items has begun at Samodagama in the Hambantota District.

The programme will also be implemented in Nuwara-Eliya, Anuradhapura, Vavuniya, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Jaffna, and Mannar Districts respectively.
