The accelerated inoculation drive with the help of the tri-forces, to prevent the spread of the pandemic was continuing apace in spite of some disturbances at certain vaccination centres, ministerial sources said, adding that on Monday (30) alone nearly 600,000 were inoculated.
Among them were those who had received first and second jabs, sources said. They said that exactly 571,589 received the jab with 536,438 given Sinopharm 12,604 AstraZeneca, 20,873 Moderna and 1,674 Pfizer.
The government was confident of inoculating all Sri Lankans 30 and above by Sept 15 and Monday had been the most successful day in the vaccination campaign launched on January 29, sources said.
