Local artiste Yohani de Silva who garnered global recognition with her song ‘Manike Mage Hithe’’ is all set to perform in India.
The current version of the viral Sinhala song was released in May 2021 and is sung by Sri Lankan singer-rappers Yohani and Satheeshan, who became overnight sensations not only in Sri Lanka but also in India.
Yohani will be performing at Studio XO, Gurugram on September 30 and Heart Cup Coffee, Gachibowli, Hyderabad on October 3.
The event is titled Supermoon #NowTrending and is a new platform for upcoming and new talent.
Yohani in a message on Facebook said “I have ALWAYS wanted to perform in India and I can’t believe it is finally happening! The love shown to ‘Manike Mage Hithe’, still baffles me. I’m so stoked that this is finally happening and that I get to perform in Gurugram & Hyderabad on 30th September & 3rd October respectively”.
Meanwhile, following an invitation Yohani had met Dr. Rewant Vikram Singh Director, Indian Cultural Centre (now called Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre), High Commission of India on Tuesday.
