Lions to clean 50 identified cities from Colombo to Medawachchiya in one day

Lions Clubs are to clean fifty identified cities from Colombo to Medawachchiya in one day. This was disclosed by the new governor of Lions District 306B2 Kaushal Rajapaksa outlining the Annual Activity Plan for 2021-2022.

“This year’s theme is “Be Inspired, Live Inspired,” Rajapaksa explained. “We will also be planting 5,000 trees along the highway between Kurunegala and Mirigama.

“We are conducting a district tree-planting day on September 19, 2021. On the same day, a tree-planting program will be held throughout Sri Lanka with the participation of Lions of multiple 306 districts.

Lions are volunteers who have kindness and service to the community as core values. There are several Lions Clubs in Sri Lanka with many business-people and professionals among the membership.

Indhra Kaushal Rajapaksa is a Fellow of the Plastics and Rubber Institute and an Associate member of the Association of Business Executives UK with an MBA in Business Management. He is the Immediate Past President of the Plastics and Rubber Institute, President of the Chartered Management Institute, Vice President of the Confederation of Small and Medium Industries [COSMI], and Chairman of the Minuwangoda Industrial Association.

He is also an executive committee member of the Singapore Business Council, the China Business Council and the Pakistan Business Council.

As the new governor of Lions district 306B2, Kaushal brings to the table a series of milestones achieved. These include a million rupees worth of dry rations donated to 400 needy families in Wattala; the planting of 2,000 “Mee” trees along river and lake banks in the Anuradhapura area; and the renovation and handover of a 35-bed ward for Covid-19 patients at the District Hospital in Maho.
