A foreign multi-day trawler carrying a stock of heroin had been taken into the custody along with 9 foreign suspects on seas south of Batticaloa during a joint operation carried out by the Sri Lanka Navy and Police, said the Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa.
The suspects were arrested last night.
The seized trawler and the suspects are currently being brought ashore by the naval personnel, the police spokesman said further.
