Foreign Ministry to use UDA land as new building

Several divisions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are maintained in different venues from the head office due to lack of sufficient building space within the Republic building where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is stationed.

This situation has led to various administrative shortcoming whereas construction of a sufficient building to cater the contemporary requirements of the Ministry has been recognized.

Therefore, concurrence of the Cabinet of Ministers has been granted to the proposal submitted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs for allocating a plot of land from the land utilized by the Industrial Technological Institute at present and situated at Vidya Mawatha which belongs to the Urban Development Authority for the construction of a new building.
