A suspect who forged motorcycle chassis numbers and engine numbers has been arrested by the CID at Kurana in Negombo on Thursday. The suspect was arrested after the Police found that the chassis number and engine number of a motorcycle had been changed during a search of a suspicious motorcycle in the Kurana area.
During further questioning of the suspect, Police found another modified motorcycle and two sets of tools used to change the fake number plate. The suspect is a 28-year-old resident of Kandana. Negombo Police are conducting further investigations.
