Sri Lanka’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic was globally lauded and the government has received international recognition for its well-coordinated vaccination program, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.
The Minister said that the representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF have commended the vaccination process in Sri Lanka and in addition to that the Japanese Ambassador in Sri Lanka, Cuban Ambassador in Sri Lanka, US Ambassador in Sri Lanka and the Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka also commended the vaccination program.
The Minister made this observation by participating in an event of distributing 100,000 COVID vaccines under the COVAX facility.
