SJB warns of monopoly in agrochemical imports

Samagi Jana Balavegaya spokesman Manusha Nanayakkara yesterday alleged that the government was planning to import agrochemicals through one company.

 In a statement issued yesterday, Galle District MP Nanayakkara alleged that of 29 companies engaged in the import of fertiliser one was to be given contract worth Rs 10 bn. Accusing the government of causing massive damage to agriculture production by its hasty decision to halt fertilizer imports, the former UNPer said that the SLPP having gained power by promising national security today was depriving the country of food security (SF)
