The postponed second stage of the 99th National Athletic Championship has been rescheduled for October 16 and 17 at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Vice-President of Sri Lanka Athletics (SLA) G. L. S. Perera said that they decided to put off the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country.
All events, which were completed during the first stage of the meet in May, will be held once again as an additional competition opportunity for the athletes.
Meanwhile, SLA selection trials to pick the National Squad for the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games will be held in November.
The Commonwealth Games will be held from July 28 to August 8, 2022 in Birmingham, England while the Asian Games will be held from September 10 to 23, 2022, in China.
