Adhering to lockdown rules is a social responsibility: Health Minister

The lockdown is a directive by the government for all citizens to abide by as restriction of movement is critical for the prevention of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, a tweet from the Twitter handle of Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said yesterday.

“It is not meant to be enforced by the armed forces patrolling the streets to arrest those who break curfew rules. In fact, it is a social responsibility that all citizens need to take to heart and adhere to. There will be zero progress without cooperation from the people to allow the lockdown achieve its objective, he said.
