There were no plans to increase water tariffs at this time, said the Water Supply and Drainage Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara.
The Minister said that despite the difficult challenges, steps will be taken to ensure an uninterrupted supply of water and all those in the water supply sector will work with dedication for that.
He was speaking to the media after attending a programme at the Ratmalana Water Supply Board office yesterday (17).
Nanayakkara further stated that the government will not increase water tariffs at a time when the people were facing difficulties due to COVID-19.
