The Civil Security Department (CSD) deployed mobile trucks in Maradana, Borella, Dematagoda, Bambalapitiya, Mount Lavinia, Nugegoda, Ja-Ela, Gampaha and several other areas to distribute fresh vegetables and other essential goods at reasonable prices for the convenience of the public, on the directions of the CSD Director General – Major General (Rtd) Nandana Senadheera.
Acting on the instructions of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the CSD purchases the produce from the economic centres and distributes them among the public at very reasonable rates. This operation commenced on Saturday (29).
The CSD also noted that communities that wish to obtain goods from these mobile trucks in groups, could contact the CSD and arrange for these trucks to visit their communities.
