Event organizer Chandimal Jayasinghe and model Piumi Hansamali who were arrested by the Fort Police on charges of violating quarantine regulations were released on bail yesterday (31). The said persons were arrested for organising a birthday party at a Five Star hotel in Colombo violating quarantine regulations.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that the suspects were produced before the Hulftsdrop Magistrate’s Court and released on Rs.1 million personnel bail. The case would be taken before the Court again on August 27. He said the Police are conducting investigations to arrest others who attended the party after viewing CCTV footage.
