Another Lankan ISP hacked

The official website of a leading Internet Services Provider (ISP) in Sri Lanka has faced a cyber-attack on May 30 causing service interruptions for several days.

The attackers identified as a group of two had defaced the website, the Information Technology Society of Sri Lanka (ITSSL) reveals.

According to the ITSSL, the official mobile application and several subdomains of the relevant website were affected due to this attack and a large number of customers had faced difficulties in obtaining services.

Considering the latest development, the ITSSL warns that the attackers could have stolen sensitive data of the company through this attack. The defacement has been restored by now.
