Temporary COVID-19 Treatment Centre set up at Jamia Naleema Institute

A temporary COVID-19 treatment centre was set up at the Jamia Naleema Education Institute in Ambeypitiya, Beruwala, yesterday.

The centre has a capacity for 300 beds; it is to be managed by 11 doctors and 25 nurses. It was said that 20 patients are to be admitted to the centre soon.

Women and Child Development State Minister Piyal Nishantha de Silva inspected the site yesterday with other state ministry officials. He provided the centre with fans, tables, refrigerators, and personal protective equipment. Beruwala Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Menaka Wimalarathne, Beruwala Divisional Secretary Ranjan Priyantha, and several other officials also met the state minister at the centre.
