The Navy established a Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Unit (4RU) in Rathnapura on May 11.
Ratnapura and the surrounding low-lying areas are prone to frequent floods. Therefore, the Navy established the 4RU in Ratnapura and a team of Naval personnel has been stationed there.
