China has decided to donate another 500,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine within this month to support Sri Lanka in fighting the current wave of COVID-19, the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka tweeted today.
China previously donated 600,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine. It was first administered to the Chinese nationals in Sri Lanka, and the health authorities commenced giving it to the locals after the World Health Organization (WHO) approved it for Emergency Use. It is now being administered at centres throughout the Western Province.
