The Badulla Farmers’ Rights Organisation said recently that there are around 24 abandoned tea factories in the district that could be turned into quarantine centres.
While some of them are dilapidated, others are still usable, they said, adding that with the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the country, it may prove to be a necessity.
