A total of 423 persons were arrested in police operations carried out yesterday for violating quarantine regulations, said the Police Media Spokesperson Ajith Rohana.
He further said, that 98 of them were taken into custody in Matale and 65 were arrested in Kandy.
Nearly 22,000 Police officers were deployed to oversee the travel restrictions and other regulations from last night, Police Spokesperson said.
