The Rotary club of Colombo North has invited Vanushi Walters to address the Retractors and Interactors of the Rotary International District 3220 Sri Lanka and Maldives on Saturday April 24 at 9.30 a. m. Sri Lankan time, through a virtual platform.
Vanushi Walters is the first and only Sri Lankan born Parliamentarian to be inducted to the New Zealand Parliament. She is also the first Labour party member to be elected for the upper Harbour Street. She is a Lawyer by Profession, and a graduate of the University of Auckland She completed her Masters’ in International Human Rights Law from the University of Oxford. She is a mother of three sons and is betrothed to her husband Rhys Walters.
She will be addressing the young Sri Lankans on “Integrity and Youth” and Rtn.Maheema Weerasingha of Rotary Club of Colombo North will moderate the discussion from New Zealand. President of the Rotary Club of Colombo North Rtn. Lucien Pereira will be delivering the Welcome Address. The Vote of thanks will be delivered by Youth Services Chair and District Rotaract Committee Chairman elect Rtn. Marshad Barry
The Interact Club of Wesley College, the Interact Club of Carey College, the Interact Club of Colombo North, the Rotaract Club of Colombo North, the Rotaract Club of Singer Sri Lanka, the Rotaract Club of Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo and the Rotaract Club of Imperial College are the part of Organising Committee.
Rotary District Governor Rtn. Ajith Weerasingha , Assistant District Secretary Rtn. Champa Pereira, District Governor Elect Rtn. Aruni Malalasekara, Youth Service Chairman Rtn. Dr. Rohantha Athukorala, District Rotaract Committee Chairman Rtn. Amjad Yusoof and District Interact Committee Chairman Rtn. Delvyn Perira will be participating in the event.
