Tears and prayers for those we lost…

The second anniversary of the deadly Easter Sunday bomb blasts (April 21) was marked by memorial services at the churches struck by the terror. The services were led by head of the Catholic Church, Colombo Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith at St. Anthony’s Shrine, Kochchikade, and Colombo Auxillary Bihops J.D. Anthony and Maxwell Silva at St. Sebastian’s Church, Katuwapitiya. Heads of the other faiths, family members of the victims and foreign envoys in Colombo also participated in the services.

Zion Church in Batticaloa which was another target of the suicide bombings also held a memorial service presided over by Pastor Roshan Mahesan.

Lake House staff photographer Sulochana Gamage captured these photographs at the solemn services on Wednesday.
