RAT at 12 points in Western Province

The Police implemented special roadblocks at 12 points of the Western Province yesterday to carry out random Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) on those who enter and exit the Western Province.

Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said that this was initiated together with the Health Ministry and the Tri-Forces and it was started from 12 pm yesterday.

Roadblocks are implemented on Thoppuwa Bridge in Kochchikade, Badalgama Bridge in Kotadeniyawa, Helagala Junction in Nittambuwa, Giriulla Bridge in Mirigama, Samanabedda Bridge in Dompe, Wahagoda Bridge in Hanwella, Benthara Bridge in Aluthgama, Thiniyawala Junction, Ketakedella Bridge in Ingiriya, Saman Devalaya Point in Baduraliya, Aviththawa Bridge in Meegahathenna and near Welipenna Interchange on the Southern Expressway.

The operation will continue until further orders, he added.
