The Patriotic United National Party (PUNP) has strongly condemned the actions of MP Harin Fernando, who had entered a private hospital after being summoned by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to record a statement.
Issuing a media statement, the party has said that the country had a problem with how MP Harin Fernando, who had behaved like an energetic and healthy person in Parliament the day before he was summoned to the CID, had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital.
The law of the country should be fair to every citizen, even if he or she has the privilege of being a Member of Parliament. Accordingly, they request the Criminal Investigation Department to take necessary legal action against MP Harin Fernando.
“In addition to the loss of life caused by the Easter Sunday Terror Attacks, the loss to the national economy of the country is still irreparable.
Accordingly, the Easter Sunday Terror Attacks was not only an act of murder but also a heinous crime committed against the Motherland,” the PUNP further stated.
