Prayers at mosques suspended

The Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs informed the Trustees of all mosques to temporarily suspended tharaveeh prayers (night prayers during Ramazan), Jummah Prayers and congregational activities such as Bayan, Qiyamul Lail, Ithikaf and Thowba until further notice on advice of the Health Authorities and the Wakfs Board of Sri Lanka.

Permission has been given to daily five-time Jamath prayers with maximum of 25 persons with wearing facemask, maintaining one metre distance, carrying own prayer mats and taking ablution from home.

They are requested to kept closed ablution areas in mosques and kept closed all Mosques in isolated areas until further notice.
