The Defence Ministry has taken action to further strengthen security in the upcoming weeks as Christians commemorate two years since the Easter Sunday Attacks of 2019.
The Ministry in a press release said the Security Forces are on the alert and the Tri-Forces have been instructed to take security measures in coordination with the Sri Lanka Police.
The Defence Ministry has also issued special instructions to the Chief of Defence Staff and the Tri Forces Commanders in this regard.
In addition, the Ministry also requests the public and devotees to be vigilant during this period where the Easter Sunday commemorations are held. The Ministry further requests the public to properly follow the given health guidelines to prevent the possible spread of the pandemic during this period.
