Two army personnel were injured after a vehicle defied orders to stop and knocked them at a checkpoint at Omanthai, the Police Spokesman said.
Injured soldiers have been admitted to the Vavuniya Hospital.
Police said the cab slammed into a nearby culvert, while the suspects had fled the scene.
The cab was taken into the custody of the Omanthai Police.
And a special search operation is underway to locate the suspects.
