NPP to support ‘Black Sunday’ campaign

The National People’s Power (NPP) or the Jathika Jana Balawegaya yesterday said that they will support the ‘Black Sunday’ campaign organised by the Catholic Council on March 7 demanding justice for the victims of Easter Sunday attacks.

The NPP in a release yesterday urged the Government to bring the masterminds behind the Easter Sunday attacks to book.

“Over 300 people were killed and 500 persons injured by a series of suicide bombs targeting several churches and hotels in the country on Easter Sunday. It is no secret that these attacks could have been averted if the leaders and officials of the then Government were able to take prompt action,” the statement said.
