Hindu Encyclopedia launched 

The newly edited Hindu Encyclopaedia was launched parallel to the Maha Shivaratri Day with the participation of Prime Minister and Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Chief Guest at Temple Trees on Tuesday evening. The Hindu Religious and Cultural Affairs Department has edited the Encyclopaedia which contains 12 Volumes. The Encyclopaedia was started in 1988. Prime Minister Rajapaksa presented the newly edited Encyclopaedia first to Hindu religious leaders. Parallel to the event, 50 selected Kovils were granted Rs 50,000 each to celebrate the Maha Shivaratri Day under the health guidelines.
