Govt will have to follow UNHRC directives – MP Sumanthiran

TNA spokesman and Parliamentarian M.A. Sumanthiran yesterday said that that Government will have to implement the Resolution adopted by the UN Human Rights body.

“Certain Ministers say the Government is not legally bound to implement the Resolution. But the Government will have to implement it,” he said.

He said that UN Peace Keepers might come to Sri Lanka if the Government fails to implement the UNHRC Resolution.

“Successive Governments have failed to implement the Resolutions adopted b the UN Human Rights body,” he said.
