Fraudulently imported 'undu' seeds seized by Customs

The customs had seized fifty-eight metric tons of fraudulently imported ‘undu’ seeds worth more than Rs. 40 million today.

The consignment had arrived from India.

The four containers of ‘undu’ seeds were seized by the Customs Officials under the instructions of Customs Director General (Retired) Major General G.V. Ravipriya.

The consignment of Undu seeds has been imported declared as 72 metric tons of corn seed. However, Customs officials said that only 12 metric tons of corn seed had been imported.
