COVID victims to be buried in Iranaitivu

Iranaitivu Island in the North has been identified as the site to bury the remains of COVID-19 victims in Sri Lanka, Co-cabinet Spokesman Mass Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.

He mentioned this during the press conference held today to announce the Cabinet decisions.

Minister Rambukwella said that the health authorities will announce the guidelines to be followed in this regard.

Responding to a question by a journalist Minister Rambukwella said that the Iranaitivu is an island of Sri Lanka, located in the Gulf of Mannar and part of Kilinochchi District within the Northern Province has been identified by the Technical Committee of the Health Ministry and this is not a political decision.
