The Government has decided to give an opportunity for the students who possess special talents in sports to get admission to national and prominent schools.
The initiative has been taken by Education Minister Prof G L Peiris responding to a request by Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa. The programme will be set up for children between Grade 9 and 11.
The Media Ministry on Wednesday said this at a meeting with Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa.
Minister Rajapaksa said that it will help rural students with special talents on various sports to excel in education and sports.
