Japan donates vehicles to Sri Lanka Police

Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Sugiyama Akira handed over 31 jeeps, four buses and ten vans to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa for the use of the Sri Lanka Police Department at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday. Japan has made this donation to facilitate investigations by the Sri Lanka Police. Forty five vehicles worth Rs.775 million were handed over yesterday as the first step in a donation of Rs.1,250 million.In the second stage, more vehicles and state-of-the-art search equipment will be handed over in the near future. It includes 25 jeeps, 150 motorcycles, seven search gates, a total search machine and 80 handheld metal detectors.
