Eleven persons were arrested over the past 24 hours for not wearing face masks and not maintaining social distancing, Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said.
Over 2,980 have been arrested for the offences from October 30, 2020 to date, he said.
DIG Ajith Rohana said that 121,000 persons of 40,500 families have been directed to quarantine.
“Several persons reportedly have left their residence violating the quarantine rules and regulations,” DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He said that special operations have been launched to arrest those who violate quarantine regulations.
