Buddhist Rights Commission report handed over to PM

The All Ceylon Buddhist Congress (ACBC) handed over the report of the Buddhist Rights Commission to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at his official residence at Wijerama yesterday.

Established at the Mihintale Sacred Area on Poson Poya Day in 2018, the Commission prepared this report after examining evidence island wide for more than two years.

The President of the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress Jagath Sumathipala handed over the report of the Commission to the Prime Minister.

Palitha Fernando (Retired Attorney General), the Chairman of the Commission and other members of the Commission were also present on the occasion.

Simultaneously, the book on the history of modern lay Buddhism and the centenary of the Buddhist Conference was presented to the Prime Minister.
