All COVID-19 patients have been treated at a medical facility set apart for the purpose Medical Technical Services Director Dr. Anwar Hamdani said.
Although about 600-800 COVID-19 cases are reported daily in various parts of the country, the health sector has succeeded in providing all medical facilities needed for them, he said.
Dr. Hamdani said that a special unit set up by the Health Ministry Secretary is currently working to carry out this task despite difficulties. The Health Ministry has so far established 79 COVID-19 Treatment Centers islandwide.
He said that there are 11,443 beds in all these treatment centers and to date 6,000 COVID patients are being treated in all these treatment centers and nine Emergency Care Centers (ICUs) set up countrywide.
Dr.Hamdani further said that no patient with COVID-19 should be frightened for any reason as the treatment services are active, setting an example to the world by not keeping any COVID-19 patients in the country at home or in the hospital corridors.
