A 59-year-old woman was arrested with 1.648 Kgs of heroin worth over Rs.20 million from the ‘Sirisanda Uyana’ housing scheme in Borella by the Special Task Force (STF) last Saturday.
The STF have also found Rs.610,000 in cash hidden in her house.
The suspect along with the seized heroin was handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations. She was produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court yesterday. The Police Narcotics Bureau are continuing investigations.
