Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga noted that several programs have been planned to promote Peradeniya Botanical Garden as a tourist attraction for both locals and foreign tourists.
Speaking to the media after touring at the Peradeniya Botanical Garden, Minister Prasanna Ranatunga stated that there are plans to build a car park in front of the Botanic Gardens in collaboration with the Kandy Municipal Council.
The Minister also emphasized the need to develop botanic gardens not only in Peradeniya but throughout the island in a manner that does not harm the environment.
