Timber Corp still to receive Rs.1.146 bn from entities

A number of government and non government institutions have not paid Rs.1.146 billion to the State Timber Corporation from 2016, a report received to the Wildlife and Wild Conservation Ministry said.

A Ministry press release said that the Sri Lanka Railways should pay Rs. 940 million to the department for providing sleepers while the Ceylon Electricity Board should pay Rs 40 million to the Corporation

The release added that many departments and corporations including the Mahaweli Authority, the Ruhunu University, Sri Lanka Ports Authority and the Archaeology Department owe the Timber Corporation.
