The Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, participated at the virtual session of the Standing Committee Meeting of the Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) Yesterday.
He participated in this meeting as the representative for Asia Region. It was the 25th conference of the Standing Committee Meeting of the Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth.
Dhammika Dasanayake, Secretary General of Parliament also joined with the Speaker at this meeting.
The Speakers and representatives of the 9 regions of the Commonwealth, Africa, Asia, Australia /New Zealand, Canada, the Caribbean, the Atlantic and the Americas, British Isles and the Mediterranean, India, the Pacific & Southeast Asia were also present at this virtual meeting.
This meeting of Standing Committee was held virtually due to the COVID- 19 Pandemic. The 26th CSPOC Conference will be held in Canberra, Australia in January 2022.
