Interviews are in progress in Vavuniya to recruit youth to the Police from the Northern Province.
Five hundred and fifty one youth from the Northern Province have applied to join the Police service and they are taking part in the interviews at the Vavuniya Municipal Playground.
The recruitment drive is headed by Vavuniya SSP Thissa Lal de Silva under the direction of the Wanni DIG Lal Seneviratne and Northern Province SDIG Sanjeewa Dharmaratne.
As the interviews are conducted in accordance with the health guidelines, they will last for several more days.
