A COVID-19 patient was found in Sri Lanka suspected to be infected with the new variant of the virus now spreading in the United Kingdom, said the Chief Epidemiologist Dr. Sudath Samaraweera.
The infected person had arrived in the country from England.
The Institute of Allergy Immunology and Cell Biology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura team has confirmed.
