Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe was appointed as the Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Navy with effect from 15th January 2021, by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Accordingly, the newly appointed Chief of Staff of the Navy officially assumed office, after a simple ceremony held giving prominence to religious rites, at the Navy Headquarters this morning.
