Facebook today announced the launch of a blood donations feature for Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka is the 29th country to receive the special feature.
The feature will be available from tomorrow to Facebook users in Sri Lanka, the Policy Programs Manager for Sri Lanka, Facebook Yasas Vishuddhi Abeywickrama said.
Facebook users between the age of 18-55 in Sri Lanka will be able to start signing up to be blood donors and receive updates on blood requirements at the nearest blood centres or hospitals. And 24 blood banks across the country have been linked to the special feature.
The feature is being launched to increase the number of blood donors and to encourage more people to donate blood.
