The government will honour all public sector employees who worked with dedication to maintain the public sector in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic threat, Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon said.
“We went through a very difficult year. The year 2020 can be identified as a year devoted entirely to the corona epidemic. Under these circumstances, maintaining normalcy in the country was an arduous task and in such a situation, the assistance rendered by the public sector employees cannot be ignored. From the lowest state sector employee to the highest officer, they worked with dedication and if not for their contribution, the government could not have carried out their tasks and the situation could have been further complicated. Therefore, the government has not forgotten the service rendered by the public sector employees in this situation,” he said.
