More laboratory tests to be conducted on Dutch monk’s remains - JMO

During the post-mortem examination on the body of the Dutch monk who had mysteriously died a few days back, the Judicial Medical Officer has said more laboratory tests are required to determine the cause of death.

The body of a 59-year-old Dutch monk residing at the Polgasduwa Forest Hermitage in Rathgama was found in a nearby reservoir.

The Rathgama Police have commenced investigations into the murder with the assistance of the CID. Following the magisterial inquiry, the post mortem was conducted by the Specialist Judicial Medical Officer at the Karapitiya Hospital in Galle on December 10.

Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that samples have been taken from the body and sent for laboratory tests.
