Seven undergrads suspended

The Jaffna University disciplinary committee has decided to suspend seven senior students who assaulted a group of new students at the university recently.

Six new students were injured when a group of senior students attacked them on several occasions on October 8 and 12 senior students were charged with the incident.

The report of the investigation conducted by the head of the Jaffna University Student and Disciplinary Committee headed by Prof. Nandakumaran was released on November 18 and seven senior students were found guilty.

Four of the students have been suspended for six months and the remaining three for one year.
