A newly-wed couple in Mawanella are reported to have been exposed to COVID-19.
Kegalle District Health Services Director Padmakumara Weerasinghe said that the couple had contracted the virus after conducting their wedding recently without obtaining necessary permission.
He said the couple have been admitted to hospital, while nearly 120 of their close contacts have been placed in quarantine.
A total of 151 Covid patients have been reported from the Kegalle district to-date, while 32,031 persons have been placed in quarantine in the district. (NewsWire)
